The calling of Matthew (the tax collector) to follow Jesus.
• Jesus eating with tax collectors and sinners (prompting criticism from the Pharisees), to which Jesus replies: “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.”
• The healing of a woman suffering from hemorrhages for 12 years (by touching Jesus’ cloak).
• The raising of the synagogue leader’s daughter from death
